Today the students will be logging into their Gooru Accounts to complete their assignments online.

By the end of the day the students will have completed the following 3 tasks.

1.  Identified a Cause

2.  Research online 3 organizations that are related to the Cause they have chosen.

3.  Submitted their Mission Statement in the correct format!

There will be no HEADPHONES until they have completed the 3 tasks today!

Today, September 12th, in AVID

This week in AVID the 8th Grade students are launching their Kick Starter Campaign Planning.  We will be looking at how easy it is to make a big difference with a Cause.  The students will be watching the video below!




The students will be handed their packets and they will be off in their planning!

This Week in 7th Grade AVID - Cornell Notes, PRIDE COUNCIL, and Team Problem Solving

This week in AVID the students will be learning how to take Cornell Notes.  They will complete this task by listening to the Mojave Desert Phone Booth.  They will then get into groups and take a Quizlet Challenge based upon their answers.  The students will also be conducting their first PRIDE Councils.  They will finish the week with a couple of Team Problem Solving Challenges to help them learn how to communicate effectively in group settings!

This week in 7th Grade AVID

This week the 7th Grade AVID students are learning how to Shake Hands.    They will also being creating their Buddy Contracts and joining their PRIDE Council Units.  They will end the week by playing the Blanket Name Game to see how well they have gotten to know one another!
