Today in Avid - Artist Research and Lyrics

Today the students are continuing to work on their writing project.  They will be selecting the song that means something to them and copy the lyrics to a Word Document and Share it with Mr. Robinson.

Steps that must be completed.

1.  Log into Office 365
2.  Open a Word Doc on Office 365 online
3.  Copy and Paste the lyrics of the song to a Word Document
4.  Fix any poor language, if any, in a school appropriate measure.
5.  Save a Copy of the Document to your L-Drive
6.  Share a the document with Mr. Robinson by doing the following.
                        a.  Click on the Share Button
                        b.  Click on Invite People
                        c.  Type in michaelr@sps81.org
                        d.  Click Share.

Part 2 of day:  Once Completed with the Sharing of the Lyrics you need to begin work on your Artist Research Worksheet.  This worksheet will be collected at the end of the class!

Part 3 of Day:  Log into Typing Club and start a typing lesson

Today in 8th Grade Avid - Writing Prompts, Smart Goals, and Grade Checks

Today the students will be continuing to work on expanding their writing skills by writing in their Journals.  The topic will be in regards to an obscure artist named Harris Burdick.



Using the concepts of from the Mysteries of Harris Burdick the students will start the brainstorming process and writing of a story based upon the image below.  They will have 15 minutes to work on this during class today!

National College Fair Registration, Writing Notebooks, and Final Commercials

Today the students will be registering for the National College and Career Fair!

Step 1:  Log Into Office 365
Step 2:  Click on Word
Step 3:  Go to file and Click on Rename
Step 4:  Name file (Your Name) AVID Virtual Writing Journal
Step 5:  Click on Share
Step 6:  Type Michaelr@sps81.org

Part 3 of Day:  Publish your movie to your L:Drive and then upload the mp4 to your One Drive and share it with Mr. Robinson.

Critical Reading and Writing Unit Begins

Today the students will be critically reading a piece about Bob Dylan winning the Nobel Prize.




They will then be using their Writing in the Margins Graphic Organizer to critically read and engage with the piece!

30 Second Buddy Bench Commercials Continued.......

Today we are watching a video to help us hone our 30 second commercial skills.  You will need to take C-Notes as we watch the video.
